Which board is better for custom cabinets

The first and preferred board is particle board. Because the particle board is almost always made of plant and wood particles and glue, the only disadvantage is that the environmental protection performance will be worse. However, the particle board has very high load-bearing and deformation resistance capabilities. In addition, the particle board has a very high nail-holding force for our commonly used screws. But for ordinary steel nails, the nail holding force is very poor, but the production of cabinets is basically based on screws, so this is also its advantage.


I personally think that the second choice of plates should be splints. The glue content is relatively small, which means higher environmental performance. In addition, the splint is very high in terms of deformation resistance and bearing capacity. In terms of nail holding force, it is almost similar to particle board, so it is also a good choice for cabinet board.



What we need to pay attention to when choosing plates

The first thing to pay attention to is the environmental performance of the board. Because most of the formaldehyde in our home decoration comes from the glue in the wood, we must choose the certified products when purchasing the boards, and the amount of formaldehyde pollutants must reach the E1 standard.
